SOMETHING NEW UNDER THE SUN...
...the sun!

I found this computer generated snapshot of the sun's magnetic field while researching that big ball that emits the thing that we changed our clocks to save.

What got me going was that I recently heard somewhere that the sun's magnetic field has increased by 230%!

Of course now that I go to verify it I can find neither the bookmark, the scrap of paper nor the friend who told me this astounding fact. But what I can find is bucketloads of information on activity and changes on the sun. Solar flares, magnetic fields, sun spots, solar wind, conversion of gasses, cycles and flare ups and unexplained phenomenon galore.

Doesn't it seem that even small slow changes in such a big thing as the sun might be kind of consequential?

What really blows my mind is that the sun, which seems so constant, is not constant at all! So now when I am sometimes not constant, perhaps I will give myself a break and say well, I am like the sun!

I used to think that we should solve our problems here on earth before we bothered with space. But I don't see it that way at all anymore. Something has shifted in me and I see myself much more as a galactic being than an earthling.

More and more I am interested in the astro-logical. That is the logic of the sky. Our spiral galaxy echoing the spiral of our DNA. As above, so below. And vice-versa. I am done with linear logic. Just because the sun looks like it is shining ever steadily doesn't mean we should not look more closely, and then go outside, shut our eyes and enjoy being kissed by a star.

WAKING UP
oops!

OK! You know how I adore my zen alarm clock. Or if you don't, I do! It dings so sweetly in a sequence based on the Fibbonacci numbers, making waking up a creatve process not a difficult task. Dreams are easier to remember. The transition a beautiful bridge over running water. Apparently it also inclines you to metaphoria!

But about a month ago, in moment of excitement, Greg's hand back thrashed Zenny to the concrete floor. Excitement good, broken clock bad. The nice people at Now & Zen gave us a new one for half price even though our warrentee was up years ago. We ordered the digital model which I planned to use for my yoga/meditation practice timings as well as on the road. Plus we liked the modern minimalist design better. Well the next few mornings were sao sad, it just didn't sound as good?! We did all the adjustments on the chiming mechanism but nothing would make it sound like our sweet old zenny.

The nice people at Now & Zen did point our that the smaller resonating box just can't make the same noise. Wait, I'm small and I make a big noise?! Oh well. We are back to the original kind of ugly design. But after being without it for a few weeks, I love it even more than I did before. Even though it is spring, and I am waking up many days before the ding, I look forward to hearing it! It's never wrong to remember it's time to wake up. Sometimes even right before bed. Oh zenny! I love you.

you'll thank me
Ready, Set, GO!
tri-ology

March is the third month. Three is the number of ready set GO! Bim bam BOOM! On the count of three.

But let's not kid ourselves, March is challenging. Season changing on top of the massive change. I find it helpful to remember that the word change comes from a word meaning 'bend, crook'. It's easier to stomach change if I remind myself how dull a straightaway is.

March is the only month that actually has a slogan. About change. That's how much March is all about change. "In like a lion and out like a lamb". Everything does not neccesarily change for the worse. The ferocious can become gentle. The dark, enlightened. The unbalanced finds equilibrium. Paradigms shift. Dimmensions increase. Consciousness raises. Language evolves. Tensions release. Wavelengths intersect. Clalrity ensues!

So, March. Everything that was gestating all winter is finally ready to be unleashed. Nothing gestating all winter? Are you sure? Either way it is time to plant new seeds to reap at the height of summer. I find yearly planning a bit overwhelming. Things are changing so rapidly. But seasonal planning is not beyond me. Bite size chunks. Give it a try.

a March march for change!

Only show this month. If you've been this year you know we are in a good groove, and thanks for helping. As science tells us, the observer changes the experiment!

Saturday night at 8, putting the arch into March: the star and creator of IFC's uniquely deliriously funny "Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman" Laura Kightlinger. And also the wild madness of Scott " 'Kids In The Hall' was the tip of the iceburg" Thompson. And a new me. I am having my DNA "potentiated" this week and be the newly activated spiralific me!

Generally the shows around the turn of the seasons are pretty light in the audience what with everyone feeling flustered with adjusting their lives. So if you are someone who likes elbow room when you go to a show, this one's for you!
