Beth Lapides is an alt comedy guru, author, yogi and creator of the groundbreaking comedy show Un-Cabaret and The Comedian's Way workshop. In her new show "100% Happy 88% of the Time" she navigates the slippery slope of these rapidly changing times on pages, stages, screens. And she does it with an upward facing attitude.

Beth's blog reflects her wide ranging interests and her feeling that despite the insane level of difficulty, The World Is So Exciting Right Now! She connects woo-woo with edge science and the spiritual frontier to daily life. She interprets, questions, deconstructs, inspires and analyzes. And she does it in all high heels. Or in barefeet. Host mandala Beth's hosting is intimate, spontaneous and yet authoritative.

STAGE

She developed her style at the ground-breaking alternative comedy show Un-Cabaret, a legendary venue for personal comic storytelling by a mind-blowing posse of progressive comedians. Beth has hosted about a zillion live shows at M-Bar, LunaPark, Lollapalooza, the US Comedy Arts Festival, HBO Workspace, the Getty, the Skirball, the Friars Club, the Players Club, the Knitting Factory, the Great American Music Hall, plus many other clubs, theaters and colleges.

She created and hosted screenings, panels and performances for the Skirball Cultural Center, including their Comedy Project festivals and her ongoing Say the Word reading series, and has hosted live conversations with authors for the LA Public Library's ALOUD series.

She has also emceed comedy nights, benefits and concerts for the Drug Policy Alliance, Feral Cat Alliance, Bohemian Women's Political Alliance, the live component of the ACLU's Freedom Files, and many more.

Beth hosted the Un-Cabaret special for Comedy Central. She also hosted "The Couch" an experimental talk show pilot for MTV and has been a Guest Host on KCET's "Life & Times".

Beth hosted two daily shows on on an ill-fated network called Comedy World Radio. "The Beth Lapides Experience" was a magical mystery tour of alternative talk-radio with in-studio guests and call-in from listeners. The other was "Radio Un-Cabaret", which featured Beth DJ-ing clips from the Un-Cabaret.

She also hosts the Un-Cabaret Podcast on audible.com which features performances from the Un-Cabaret as well as her seminal spoken word reading series Say The Word.

She created and hosted The Other Network, a festival of the best un-aired TV shows ever made, introduced by their creators.
