I got so clear on Sunday.
About the future of UnCab.
And my mission with it.
It’s two fold.
Partly everything it’s always been.
Space for unhomophobic, unxenophobic, unmysogynistic and unhacky comedy.
Comedy with a bent toward the fresh, the raw, towards the now.
It’s more than the comedy.
But there’s another part.
A part I miss so much when we take a hiatus.
The you part.
Being with the audience.
A tendency for alienation.
That’s part of now.
UNCAB HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE MEET.
A spectacular place to gather and hang.
Meet the friends of your friend.
Or the girl you recognize from the thing.
And even a place to come alone.
And feel ok.
Just to be around like minded people without having to make too much effort.
That is a particular comfort.
I get the greatest thrill from being on stage a Uncab.
But this other piece of it.
It’s a big piece.
Sunday it was great to be sold out
And feel so many others of you feeling the same.
So here’s to us.
Exchanging – changing! – biophotons.
Uplifting each other.
Every Second Sunday at Rockwell this year.
Mark your calendars.
Be with us on the regular.
Make it a monthly event. And go get a table for April 14!
Mucho love and gratitude.
