it’S A LOT

It’s A Lot is the new brain child from LA comedy icon and innovator Beth Lapides. It’s a hot take on now. And filled with comedy, story, original music, big ideas and inspiration.

It’s A Lot asks the question - what kind of changes must we make to survive, thrive and even drive the new age - or goo age as Beth calls it - of evolutionary transition.

It’s our collective story. The story of what happens when everything is changing - all at once. And about trying to understand what to do.

On the one hand it’s about consciousness, freedom and courage.
And on the other hand it’s about real estate, back pain and aliens….

It’s an odyssey.
It’s a pep talk.
It’s a lot.

The show is framed by Beth’s own rebirth story. It features deep dives into era defining topics like manifestation, grappling with difference, recovery, Jewish identity, Hollywood. As always for Beth, the theme of how, when and why we change is laced throughout the work.

Developed at UnCabaret. The first sneak peak was presented by The Bent at The Palm Springs Cultural Center. Next, a developmental run at El Cid in Los Angeles. Thanksgiving weekend we continue on at The Revolution Theater in Palm Springs.

What People Are Saying

“More than the Godmother of Alternative Comedy, Beth Lapides is a cultural treasure whose storytelling skills are topped only by her ability to attract and inspire other storytellers to innovate and create at their highest levels. I’ve had the good fortune of watching Beth’s latest solo show, It’s A Lot, through several iterations, and it is pure delight. With her trademark wit and musical flare, she plumbs the depths of her own colorful history, mining stories that are as relatable as they are entertaining as they are transformative.”

— Corny Koehl
Emmy Award Winning Producer Co-Creator “Super Soul Sunday”

“When I went to see Beth Lapides’s new show, IT’S A LOT, I knew I was going to hear some very big ideas. I also knew that I would laugh (a lot) and that I would think about it (a lot) for a long time after. I was right. IT’S A LOT is filled with huge ideas about Transformation and the struggle to live in the world. It’s also wildly funny. The only way I can describe what Beth Lapides does onstage is to call her a “stand-up philosopher.”

— Tracy Poust
Executive Producer “Will & Grace”

“Beth is an inspired storyteller! In It’s A Lot’s funny stories and songs, she reveals how she navigates her way through change and the divine struggle of transformation .”

— Tim Bagley
