Did I Wake You?

I love poetry.
I think of stand up as poetry.
And dialogue.
Obv songs.
We talk
In poems.
There is space.
We threw away all the clutter.
In poems.
Love?
Is two people rhyming.
Even though all poems don’t rhyme.
They do.
In the way that time does.
One minute
Rhyming with another.

The absence of yes
Over time equals no. That
Is Hollywood Math

“Why’ve you got a
Giant octopus tattoo?”
”Oh, no real reason.”

Never read Proust - feel
I have - have read Sartre but
feel that I haven't.

When I said be more
Liz Taylor - I mean diamonds,
Not back pain and pills.

“You’re so negative
For a positive person,”
he said. “No I’m not!”

You broke my heart and
Taught me how to stay and I
Practiced it today.

“I love,” Tim said, “that
you’re thinking ‘throw a party’.
I’m thinking ‘xanax.’
